The main purpose of establishing St Matthias Catholic Group of Schools is, To serve mankind for the advancement of knowledge and Truth, in line with the second Vatican council as quoted by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) the school is to make every effort to form the human mind in line with gravissimum education. These set goals will be achieved in collaboration with state and federal educational authorities.

Our History
St. Matthias Catholic Group of Schools, was established in 1996 by the then parish priest of St. Matthias Catholic Church, Amarata, Rev. Fr. James Mokor with the support of thSt. Matthias Catholic Group of Schools, was established in 1996 by the then parish priest of St. Matthias Catholic Church, Amarata, Rev. Fr. James Mokor with the support of the parish pastoral council. Some elders of St. Matthias parish from yenizue-epie donated a parcel of land which was later on bought by the church for the school. The school was formerly called St. Matthias Catholic Nursery and Primary School.
